Cotton Thompson--Gold Star 1381--1950 Original 78 rpm record, Cotton Thompson With Deacon [Rag-Mop] Anderson and the Village Boys, How Long b/w Hopeless Love, Gold Star 1381. Released 1950. Bill Quinn's Gold Star was the predominant record label in Houston in the late 40s-early 50s, recording mainly country, Cajun, and R&B music. Some discoloration to labels but record surface is still nice and shiny with only minimal background noise. Thompson was originally from Waco and had quite a following in the Houston/Beaumont-Port Arthur area in the late 40s-early 50s. Nice piece for any collector of Western Swing or Houston-area records and is in VG condition. Any questions please feel free to ask.
