This amazing album sometimes referred to as "Chicago Calling" (see pic of back cover) features WYNTON KELLY-piano, CURLY RUSSELL-bass, and MAX ROACH-drums and introduces the great JOHNNY GRIFFIN on tenor sax Special Note: This album was carefully preserved for many years at THE KENT MEMORIAL JAZZ ARCHIVES LIBRARY in Connecticut, U.S.Note: The Library's own sticker with its library cataloguing bar code and Library name can be seen in the upper rt hand corner of front cover. Light Library stamper is also present on the middle of each label near spindle hole.(see label closeup pics). Super glossy NM / NM- Vinyl. (see Play Tested below) Very Strong VG++ no ringwear...great looking front cover, very light edgewear, some very neatly taped top seam splits (clear taped so almost hard to even notice) PLAY TESTED: This great Van Gelder 1957 pressing plays better than any first pressings of this album we have ever listened to. There are no skips, clicks, or loud pops. It plays clean without surface noise. Bold crisp top quality sound fidelity. Next day shipping. Vinyl and cover separated and placed in a 2 mil poly bag and then into a professional sturdy Lp mailer along with several cardboard inserts providing extra protection for this jazz gem.
