One of the all-time great "shaded dog" titles: gorgeous string tone and stunning dynamic range. Here's your chance to get this out of print rarity at a fair market price! Condition: There is a small bump on the lower left front/lower right rear corner (please see Pictures 3 and 4). There is also a minor "crease" (not quite a bump) along the lower right front corner (please see Picture 5). ABOUT 45 RPM PRESSINGSWhile some folks don't like the 45 RPM format (yes, you do have to get up and change sides more often), it's not hype: with more vinyl real estate for your stylus to operate within, volume levels are maintained consistently across all tracks (with 33 1/3, as you get closer to the inner groove you will lose volume because the grooves get smaller), and there's LOTS more room for the bass frequencies. A mastering engineer has to juggle all these factors, usually leading to certain compromises, when pressing at 33 1/3. The common wisdom in the audiophile community is that, when done well, 45 rpm pressings are as close as you'll get to the master tape. ABOUT SINGLE SIDED PRESSINGSWhile pressing at 45 RPM raises the sonic bar, one might still confront the sonic compromises introduced when an LP is pressed on both sides, which is the norm. When records are issued on very thin vinyl, the grooves pressed on one side of an lp can microscopically impress themselves on the other side of the record, introducing unwanted audio artifacts. This is why audiophile labels favor 180 gram or heavier vinyl. Consequently, Classic Records reissued certain titles on SINGLE SIDED pressings, at 45 RPM, in order to produce the most accurate rendition of the master tape possible.
