You are bidding on a special promotional EP from Columbia Records (SS-600, The Super Set) featuring some of their new artist roster from 1967, acquired from a relative about 25 years ago. The EP includes the original picture sleeve and a special "artist card" insert with cut-out pictures of the artists with bios on the reverse. Each side features shortened excerpts of album tracks from various Columbia artists, interspersed with spoken background and biographical info by an unnamed commentator. There are seven songs by six artists, as follows; Side A: Track 1 Keith Allison-- LouiseTrack 2: Gene Clark-- So You Say You Lost Your BabyTrack 3: The Freak Scene-- A Million Grains of Sand Side B: Track 1: Brute Force-- Brute's Party and Tapeworm of Love Track 2: Chris Farlowe-- What You Gonna DoTrack 3: The Peanut Butter Conspiracy-- It's a Happening Thing As you can see from the pictures, condition is excellent, particularly the insert, which looks new and contains no major or minor flaws that I could see. The picture sleeve contains a slight tear on the middle right-hand edge of the back cover, but other than some minor corner/ring wear, is in fine shape as well. Record is in excellent condition, with no label damage and limited scuffing; I play-tested it on a modern Victrola turntable and noticed only one defect; so crackling in the narrator audio following the Gene Clark song; given the solid condition of the record, it is possible that crackling was in the original master recording. All in all, probably one of the better version of what I suspect is a hard-to-find promo EP! As always, please examine all photos carefully prior to bidding, as I have done my very best to capture condition in these pictures. Will ship in cardboard inside a padded envelope to preserve the integrity of this item. Thank you for taking the time to check out my listing!
