Description Bruce Springsteen - "Spirit In The Night" / "For You" - USA 7" single (4-45864) - stock / promo This record, the second single released by Springsteen, is very rare - a holy grail for Springsteen collectors. Not many were pressed, especially stock copies. - Last year, Mental Floss included this record in their 10 Records You Might Have Owned That Are Now Worth a Fortune article. It's a great read, please look for it online. - Back around 2009, a copy sold here (on eBay) for $5,100. - Lost In The Flood, the Springsteen collector site, lists this record as "One of the rarest Springsteen 45s ever..." This is a stock copy with a promo sticker on the B-side. Since the record didn't sell well, Columbia took the unwanted stock copies, put promo stickers on them, then distributed them to radio stations, music reviewers etc. Two different stickers were used; white or purple. It's unknown how many stock copies were stickered. The sticker could be removed but a mark/stain (where the sticker sat) might remain. Unfortunately, there is light writing in black ink on the A-side label. I believe the first two words written are "Sioux City This would make sense, since this was the name of Bruce's manager's production company then I do not know what the third word written is I do not know if the ink can be professionally removed. The conservative condition of this record is Excellent. There are just a few scratches on the A-side vinyl.
