Up for sale is a 10 inch diameter, 78 RPM shellac record which would be of great interest to collectors of militaria and of military music. Title: Bugle Calls of the British ArmyRecord Label: Regal (Made in England)Record Number: G6827Date: December, 1914 (NOTE: This date does not appear on the record. I have taken the date from an online discography of 78 Regal records.) Side One (Part 1) (29206) Reveille; Assembly; Dress for Parade; Quarter Bugle; No Parade; Orders; Fatigue; Band; Guard; Pay Sergeant; Dinner Calls; War Calls (Alarm and Charge) Wax matrix marking: 29206 (stamped) Side Two (Part 2) (29207) Salute For Guard; General Salute; Officers' Mess; Fire Alarm; Retreat (Sunset); Defaulters; Medical Staff; Officers' Call; First Post; Lights Out! Wax matrix marking: 29207 (stamped) The name of each of the 21 bugle calls on this record is announced by a male voice just as the call begins. The announcer is not credited. The bugle player is also not announced, which is a shame because the playing is excellent. These bugle calls are short; some of them are only a handful of notes. I am including the vintage cardstock sleeve in which the record was found. It is from Waddington & Sons Ltd, a firm that claimed to sell "the world's best records". The company also sold music rolls and pianos. It was established in 1836. I found some newspaper ads for Waddington going back to the decade of the 1910s, so it is very possible that the sleeve is original to the record! Please see above for full description of condition and for photos. Sold as is. Attention US Buyers: I will ship by USPS Media Mail or by USPS Priority Mail, your choice. Please note that if you have a Military Mail address (e.g. APO), I must ask that you pick USPS Priority Mail as it is my understanding that USPS Medial Mail is not reliable to Military Mail addresses.Attention International Buyers: Unfortunately, it appears that international shipping from the US (via the USPS) has become unreliable, because of the pandemic. Therefore, I have decided to remove the international shipping option. You are still welcome to bid on this item, but will need to supply a shipping address in the US. I'm sorry for the inconvenience. Thank you for your understanding.
