Description Johnny "Chano" Martinez was a legendary Los Angeles based band leader, he arrived to SoCal in the mid-1950s from Chicago he was active into the 2000s passing away around 2010. Chano was the bass player and composer for his bands. "A Bailar Señores" goes back to 1967, the sonero is the Cuban Rudy Calzado who was living in L A at the time. Rudy was a member of the Cuban Masters, Mario Bauzá's big band and Fajardo---both in Cuba and NYC. Liner notes are by the noted latin music empresario, Oliver Berliner. Palladium Records is known for their excellent record pressings and glossy covers re-issued this in 1986. I bought my copy of this album shortly after it was re-issued, I played it one time to record it and put it away. It has been shelved & stored in my collection for close to 30 years.
