Normal 0 false false false EN-US JA X-NONE Collection of 9 rare The Who Bootleg LPs High Numbers Pete Townshend I’m pleased to offer this collection of 9 collectible boot recordings of The Who, the High Numbers and Pete Townsend. I inherited these years ago from a friendwho was a big Who fan. I am not a record collector, but I have tried to describe these vinyl albums and sleeves according to record collecting standards. If you have any questions, please contact me prior to bidding. 1. “Who is This?” Bootleg double album, blank labels with former owner’s handwritten “A,” “B,” “C,” and “D” written in pen on each blank label. Etched on the vinyl is “W-100 A” (and “B,” “C” and “D”). Vinyl appears VG++ with little signs of play. Sleeve with some ring wear and overall soiling, some bumping at the corners, no tears or losses. According to online sources, these are recordings from a September 2, 1972 concert in Munich, Germany. 2. “The Who, Ox & Sox.” Bootleg. Record Man, 1981. “Made in Japan,” and “Printed in Hong Kong” on the sleeve along with track lists. A blue label with “Sound Effects” printed at the top and “Special Disco Mixer” and “Special Mix” and “Made in USA.Online sources say this contains tracks from “Radio London” and “Filmore East.”Vinyl is VG++ with no signs of regular play. Sleeve has ring wear and overall light soiling, otherwise very good. 3. “Dance to Keep From Crying.” Bootleg “Marquee Club: 90 Wardour Street: June 1963” printed on cover with track list on cover. Marquee Records, 1983. In a blue fold-open sleeve with black and white photos on the front and back. Sleeve with some very light ring wear, otherwise fine. Light blue label with “Marquee Records” and WRKG 1000. Vinyl VG++ to EX – little, if any, wear. Online source doubts whether The Who played the Marquee Club this early in 1963, and suggests that one should not confuse this will High Numbers recordings. 4. “Wholiday in the USA.” Bootleg. Sunburn Records. double album. Black labels with “Coronet Records” and “2R-75” printed on them along with track lists. Some ring wear to sleeve, light soiling and some wear along top edge (not split though). On back cover, “Recorded in the U.S.A. during the ‘Who By Numbers’ tour 1976.”Both albums are VG++ to NM. 5. “Save.” Bootleg “Recorded Live in Essen.” “Who French Fan Club Records – Not For Sale.” Double album. Fold-open sleeve with minor ring wear and overall light soiling. Edges don’t meet up when folded. Photos of Pete Townshend on front and back cover and photo of Roger Daltrey on inside spread along with track list. Blank labes on vinyl. One album with a white and yellow label, the other with a white and green label. No markings on labels. Vinyl appears NM in what appear to be original plastic protectors. An online source pictures a different sleeve design but the track listings are the same. From a 1981 concert in Essen, Germany. 6. “Who the Fuck,” “The High Numbers!!!???” Reaction (Records?). MOD999. 20 tracks with track list printed on back of sleeve. Silver label on vinyl with “Reaction” and track lists. Vinyl appears VG++ with little signs of play. Sleeve with light ring wear and light soiling, otherwise very nice with no tears or paper losses, minimal wear. One online source describes this album as “an unofficial release of oddities and demos by The Who.” Some of the tracks are performed by the High Numbers. Another source lists this album as being from 1982. 7. “Jai’ Baba For Pete’s Sake.” Bootleg. Moon Records, 1982. Tan label on vinyl with “Moon Records,” the track lists and “9-7-78” Vinyl VG to VG++. Contains booklet printed in black and white with photos. Sleeve with some ring wear and scuffing but no tears or losses. This version has black vinyl (not colored vinyl like some others I found described). Apparently contains some demos and outtakes. 8. “The Who: Live at Swansea.” Bootleg. K&S Records 016. Sleeve with black and white images, in very nice condition. Track list on the back and “Recorded in June, 1976.” The vinyl, strangely, has a red paper label printed with “Amor Records” along with “OTRAMUJER” and “Bolero” and “SOM.” Don’t know why, but the vinyl does contain Who music. On the protective, paper sleeve inside is a date stamp of “June 21, 1981.” Vinyl is VG++ to NM, little sign of play.It seems this was not a “K&S” recording, but was passed off as such. You will know more about this then I do. 9. “Pete Townshend: Obscure & Oblique.” Bootleg. Double album. Blank, white labels on albums. Former owner wrote “A,” “B,” “C,” and “D” on labels. Vinyl VG with some light scratches that don’t skip. Contains one light-blue sheet of printed paper with track list of 30 tracks. Mentions that a lot of these are studio/demo recordings. Cover with ring wear, some overall scuffing and a small round paper loss where a sticker was removed, otherwise very good. One source says this came out in 1984 and was published by “Mr. Zero,” though there is no indication on the records or sleeve.
