Arthur Briggs and his Savoy Syncop's Orchestra play "Hallelujah" and "Song of the Wanderer" on Grammophon 21034. Hot solos on both sides, and Al Bowlly sings on "Wanderer." Arthur Briggs (tp); Jean Naudin (tb); Rene Dumont (as,ts); Georges Jacquemont (as); Mario Scanavino (ts); Egide van Gils (p); Harold M. Kirchstein (bj); Al Bowlly (g,vcl); Hans Holdt (tu,b); Eugene Obendorfer (d). Recorded in Berlin in late 1927. Visually, the record is in E- condition on the "Hallelujah" side, and plays that way. On the "Wanderer" side, the visual condition is E- generally except for a steeled groove that sounds for two seconds and passes without affecting the tracking. The "Wanderer" side plays E-/V+. I'm a longtime collector who is downsizing. I know how to pack records.
