Freddy Johnson and Arthur Briggs and their All Star Orchestra play two Eurojazz masterpieces, "Sweet Georgia Brown" and "Foxy and Grapesy," on French Brunswick A500.278. Theodore Brock, Bobby Jones, Arthur Briggs (tp); Billy Burns (tb); Peter Duconge (cl,as); Alcide Castellanos (as); Frank "Big Boy" Goudie (ts); Freddy Johnson (p,arr); Sterling Conaway (g); Juan Fernandez (b); Billy Taylor (d); Louis Cole (vcl). Recorded in Paris in 1933. This record looks to be in EE- condition, with a small label tear on the "Sweet" side and a tiny edge chip nowhere the grooves on the "Foxy" side. It plays V+, possibly because it is VERY loud. Thrilling, lengthy solos on both sides. Put this on and your turntable will thank you. On YouTube (not this copy). Shipped by USPS Priority Mail, because Media Mail service lately has been appalling. I'm a longtime collector who is downsizing. I know how to pack records.
