Floyd Cramer: Last Date (Vinyl LP, RCA Victor, 1961). Here's a great copy of Floyd Cramer's 1961 album "Last Date." This record is 60 years old but sure doesn't look/sound like it: the vinyl is in Very Good condition, with a few pops but no scratches or skips. The original cover and inner sleeve are also both in Very Good condition; a small indexing sticker was placed by a previous owner in the top right corner of the front cover (see photo). Floyd Cramer (1933-1997) was an incredibly gifted pianist and arranger; he was instrumental in creating the "Nashville sound" of the 1950s and 1960s. He was inducted into both the Country Music Hall of Fame and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame; an in-demand studio musician, he recorded with Roy Orbison, the Everly Brothers, and Elvis Presley (it's Cramer's piano you hear on "Heartbreak Hotel"), among many other artists. The title song from this album went to #2 on Billboard's U.S. Hot 100 Singles chart. The album was produced by Chet Atkins.
