Description A rare item of Irish showbiz history, an LP recorded live at the Hitching Post, in Leixlip, Co. Kildare. No date of issue on the record but I would guess late sixties or early seventies. The record features the then house band: The Hitching Post Trio, a group called Country Style, a solo performer named Steve Morrissey and another group called The Tumbleweeds. The back of the cover features photographs of the performers and the Hitching Post proprietors,Mr. and Mrs Matt Ryan. The record was released on the Irish-based Phoenix label. The Hitching Post is now long closed but in the seventies was one of the premier cabaret pubs in Ireland, drawing large crowds from the surrounding counties, particularly from Dublin. All the big local acts of the time played there, including Christy Moore and Freddie White. The record and sleeve are in excellent condition. See photographs for track listing.
