DESCRIPTION Iggy Pop - “Party” Arista Records AL 9572 (Stereo) from 1981. Hard to find Original First Pressing Vinyl Alternative / Indie / New Wave / Punk Rock Album from Punk Icon and ex-Stooge Iggy Pop with help from Ivan Kral (Patti Smith Group), Rob Duprey (Mumps), Michael Page and Douglas Browne plus The Uptown Horns. In the Original Cover with the Original Arista Inner Sleeve. This LP is pretty hard to find as it was Out Of Print since the early 1980s. Contains the Hit “Bang Bang”. CONDITION The Sleeve is in nice shape. There is some slight basic shelf wear, corner softening / wear and a small crease in the lower right corner. There is an old price tag in the upper right corner, should be easily removable. There is a promo sawcut in the lower right corner. Still super solid with no writing, stains, splits, tears, etc. and should rate VG. The Vinyl is in clean Glossy condition looking pretty lightly played. If you look closely you can spot some light scuffs and hairlines none of which affect play. Plays pretty much perfectly Near Mint all through. Maybe only a strong VG to VG+ visually, I’m calling it VG+ to account for the slight visual flaws but acknowledge that it plays WAY better. The labels show some light spindle trails but are otherwise Near Mint. If you are not familiar with this grading system (or even if you think you are!), please check it out before bidding I have summarized the important (i.e. I think everyone knows what Mint means) points below in Goldmine's words: Very Good Plus (VG+): Record surfaces may show some slight signs of wear and may have slight scuffs or very light scratches that don't affect one's listening experience. Slight warps that do not affect the sound are OK. Very Good (VG): Surface noise will be evident upon playing,... Groove wear will start to be noticeable, as will light scratches (deep enough to feel with a fingernail) that will affect the sound. I stand by my grades but would like us to be on the same page so no problems arise. I have been selling Vintage Vinyl for over twenty years on the net and I can count the returns I've had on one hand so I believe my grading is fair and accurate. One important note, I try to grade to these Goldmine guides as best as I can understand and apply them. This gives us both a written standard to go by rather than having to guess. But.... it also means that I don't issue refunds over differences of opinion in grading i.e. "That's not MY idea of a VG record!" - I don't know what your standards are and, as such, can't grade to them.
