RARE AND HARD-TO-FIND RECORDS FROM CHILE (South America) FOR COLLECTORS WORLDWIDE ALL OUR RECORDS ARE PLAY TESTED AND THEY ARE IN GREAT CONDITION ___________________________ JOHN TRAVOLTA AND OLIVIA NEWTON-JOHN SIDE 1: TU ERES A QUIEN QUIERO (You're The One That I Want) SIDE 2: SOLO EN EL DRIVE-IN (Instrumental) (Alone At A Drive-In Movie [Instrumental]) Sax Solo: Ernie Watts RARE and Hard-To-Find original RSO Records very first Stereo press released by RSO Records, made and distributed in Chile in 1979 by Discos Philips (Philips Records), licensed from RSO Records, USA, through Polydor International GMBH, Germany, catalog number 2090 279, with hand etched matrix numbers 2090-279-A MSM-CD in Side 1 and 2090-279-B RLS-CD in Side 2, with orange/black RSO Records labels. It’s interesting to notice that in the deadwax of both sides it’s written the exact day of pressing, “2-3-79” (March 2nd of 1979) in Side 1 and “29-1-79” (January 29th of 1979) in Side 2. Yes, Sirs, ANOTHER FIND from Chile for all fans, lovers and collectors of John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John!!! “You're The One That I Want” doesn’t really need any introduction, it was originally released in USA in March 1978 and become an immediate hit after the success of film “Grease”, and we got this single released here in Chile early 1979. Song titles are written in Spanish, translated to English only in Side 1, with full credits for songwriters and additional information about licenses and for “Grease”, the film where these songs were taken from. It’s interesting to notice that it’s informed both US and German catalog numbers in both sides. And it’s also interesting to notice that in both labels it’s informed “1978” but in the dead wax of both sides is etched the year 1979. I’ve never seen a copy with the year of pressing “1978”, so I guess it’s not an error, the real year this single was released in Chile was 1979. You can also see an error in song of Side 1, because the song “You're The One That I Want” is misspelled “YUO’RE The…”. But the most amazing error is that in Chile the instrumental song “Alone At A Drive-In Movie (Instrumental)” is also credited to John Travolta And Olivia Newton-John, which makes this single and UNIQUE PRESS WORLDWIDE!!! So, here you have the chance to get and own this so classic hit by John Travolta And Olivia Newton-John in this MEGARARE AND UNIQUE PRESS, with UNIQUE ERRORS, a record almost never seen and maybe auctioned here in eBay by the very first time. WOW!!! A MUST TO HAVE!!! This record doesn’t have a cover. The record is in VG+ or EX- condition both sides, glossy and clean, with many light scuffs and soft hairlines, hard to see at first sight, which don’t affect play at all. Labels are in great NM- or NM condition both sides, clear and clean, with only minimal spindle hole wear. The sound is in strong EX or EX+ condition the Side 1, loud, clear and clean, virtually no background noise (surface noise is normal in records from Chile), with only some occasional soft crackles here and there, more evident in the last seconds of the song, and in VG or VG+ condition the Side 2, so loud, clear and clean as Side 1 but with constant soft crackles and a light click in the first seconds of the song, which don’t cause major distraction from the loud and clear sound this record keeps from the beginning to the end. Overall, this is a great record in this MEGARARE AND UNIQUE PRESS, with a very nice look, almost immaculate labels and with a really nice sound quality after almost 40 years, which won’t disappoint anyone!!! You know South American records aren’t easy to get in good conditions, so HAPPY BIDDING and don’t let this record to go away… you could never see a so good copy of this record again… if you are lucky enough to see even another copy again… Thanks for watching and bidding, good luck and best regards from Chile _________________________________________________________ We don’t use the generic “VG” most of South American sellers use to hide poor quality conditions or “NM” or “Mint” for records which aren’t even clean and sound less than a normal “VG” in professional standards. We use the Record Collector’s Grading System with a little modification: we don’t use MINT grade but for Sealed records and we can use a + or – to show a most professional accurate description. MINT (M): I only use this grade for Sealed records. NEAR MINT (NM): The record itself is in like new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality (only some very very very light hairlines caused for the record rubbing the sleeve). The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in like perfect condition. EXCELLENT (EX): The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality, maybe some surface marks which doesn’t affect play. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing. VERY GOOD (VG): The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable. GOOD (G): The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc. FAIR (F): The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced. POOR (P): The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing. BAD (B): The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler. PAYMENT PayPal (send me a message if you offer some other way to pay that we can accept) Payment must be received within the first 7 seven days after the auction is ended SHIPPING (Packing and Postage) We have an unique value worldwide: GBP15 for weight until 1kg (usually 1 or 2 records 12" depending on thickness of the vinyl) GBP25 for weight 1-2kg (usually 3-5 records 12") GBP10 for one 7” record All records will be packed outside of the sleeve to avoid damages in the cover and all records will be sent with tracking number via Small Packet or Parcel Post services. FEEDBACK We don’t have anything to hide and we know the buyers expect to receive feedback after to pay for the items they win. Most of sellers say to give feedback when buyers leave feedback first. But we know that’s not fair for buyers. So, we leave feedback immediately after to receive the payment, because we understand that’s the part that buyers must receive feedback for. And we expect to receive a positive feedback from buyers who receive the records immediately after they have got the records. IMPORTANT TO READ We are not responsible for all the taxes, duties, fees you could have to pay in your country, but I always declare the records as gift. If you have some doubt or question feel free to contact us, we will be glad to answer all that you want to know about this item.
