You are bidding on an original early mono pressing Blue Note LP (BLP 4059) of KENNY DREW 'UNDERCURRENT. ONE OF THE MOST SOUGHT AFTER COLLECTIBLE LP. Issued in 1961, the album featured legendary musicians as Hank Mobley, Freddie Hubbard, Sam Jones, and Louis Hayes. Produced by Alfred Lion / Recording Engineer: Rudy Van Gelder / Cover photo by Francis Wolff / Cover design by Reid Miles Tracking:1."Undercurrent"7:202."Funk-Cosity"8:283."Lion's Den"4:564."The Pot's On"6:085."Groovin' the Blues"6:226."Ballade"5:32 This one is an original 1st pressing LP with Deep Groove on SIDE 2 only, RVG on both sides, and also "EAR mark" on both sides. Very very rare. Address on both labels stated, "BLUE NOTE RECORDS INC 47 WEST 63rd NYC". I've playtested the LP by my system of Thorens TD-124 with SME3012R and Ortofon S15T. Hooked up with CELLO Palette preamp and CELLO Duet 350 amplifier, with RED ROSE Classic Speakers. The record played superbly on both sides with no issues. Labels are clean on both sides (see photos). I, therefore, graded the vinyl Near Mint /Near Mint for both side 1 and side 2. The cover is strong. No problem with seams. Whit shiny deep blue. No split. But there are some discoloration and some yellow stains on back side. So, I graded it VG++. Address on the back cover state: "BLUE NOTE RECORDS INC, 47 West 61st St., New York 23" I WILL PACK THEM STRONG FOR A LONG JOURNEY. DON'T WORRY! I'VE SOLD MANY 1ST PRESSING BLUE NOTE AND OTHER HIGH-VALUED COLLECTIBLE RECORDS. PLEASE SEE MY FEEDBACK AS A SELLER. PLEASE ALSO VISIT MY OTHER LISTING.
