Available for auction is a mixed lot of 78 original 7" 45rpm classical albums. All in generally strong shape, with condition ranging from VG+ through NM (minor/moderate wear, no major damage: chips, cracks warps, etc. unless otherwise noted -- a few could use a quick cleaning). On the whole with covers and discs falling mainly in the EX -/+ range. All albums are photographed. Most, but not all, multi-disc albums include original inner sleeves. A few duplicates (see photos). The sonic qualities of these original 45rpm issues are widely believed by collectors (with suitable audio equipment) to be much improved in comparison to both 33rpm and 78rpm issues of the same era. It is important to note that unlike the late-period 45rpm "audiophile" re-issues of these recordings, these particular items were produced on the original valve- (tube-) based equipment using original master tapes and not contemporary transistor-based manufacture mechanisms and the poor taste of modern recording engineers. Lot includes Columbia, Urania, RCA, Capitol, and Telefunken (Capitol), Deutsche Grammophon, Tops, Remington, and Promenade. Lot includes Tchaikovsky, Grieg, Humperdink, Brahms, Mendelssohn, Copland, Rimsky-Korsakov, Strauss, Schubert, Liszt, Prokofiev, Debussy, Gershwin, Beethoven, Respighi, Sibelius, Hadyn, Grofe, Ravel, Smetana, Mozart, Auber, Offenbach, Rossini, and more. Lot includes Ormandy, Philadelphia, Boston, Koussevitzky, San Francisco, Monteux, Stokowski, NY Philharmonic, Walter, Toscanini, Cincinnati, Goossens, Desormiere, Fiedler, Munch, Pennario, Martinon, Pfluger, Mitropoulos, Beecham, Sevitzky, Concertgebouw, Mengelberg, Andre, Keilberth, Sabata, Kleiber, Hindemith, Golschmann, Stockholm. PAYMENT must be received within 48 hours of invoice delivery. DOMESTIC: Buyer pays shipping costs via USPS Media Mail. I will pay insurance for items with $50 value or more. INTERNATIONAL: Shipping and insurances costs paid in full by buyer using USPS Priority International. Item value will be declared, and buyer is responsible for any and all customs, duties, import charges and otherwise. GUARANTEE: Should you be displeased with the purchase, for whatever reason, I'll do whatever it takes to make it right. Please contact with questions or for additional information. Happy to combine shipping, as is possible. The binding description of this item is contained within the included photographs and written text. Please review both segments fully, prior to purchase. Given the intricacy of reasonably evaluating vintage items, a reasonable amount of flexibility and understanding is required of all buyers. If you demand NM+ status for purchased items and are uncertain as to the detail provided in the preceding description, please contact in advance for information and explication. The very basic guidelines of my grading scale are as follows, and quite similar to--if not identical with--those of other classical merchants with reasonable expertise and/or knowledge: COVER: M = Sealed item NM +/- = Like new in appearance, with flaws noted in description EX +/- = Visibly used, perhaps minor damage or flaws, with detailed description provided VG +/- = Visibly used, perhaps moderate damage, with detailed description provided VINYL (visual grade): M = Sealed item NM +/- = Like new in appearance, with flaws noted in description (by definition, visual grade provides little indication of strength/weakness of playback) EX +/- = Visibly used, with minor flaws that may be present in audio playback, detailed description provided VG +/- = Visibly used, without major damage (warps, cracks, gouges, manufacturing flaws) but moderate wear/tear, with detailed description provided
