Description Hello everyone, I'm selling part of my collection of 10" 78rpm records, all of jazz genre. This listing is of the great post-war swing and jive group, Louis Jordan And His Tympany Five. Titles and condition are listed below :- Brunswick 03778 Ain't Nobody Here But Us Chickens / Open The Door, Richard! Some very faint short fine lines and a few minor imperfections. Light crackle. VG Brunswick 04041 Caldonia / Buzz Me One narrow scuff and light surface lines throughout. Light crackle. VG - Brunswick 03696 That Chick's Too Young To Fry / Choo Choo ChBoogie Some light surface imperfections and a sign of play-wear. Light crackle. VG - There are neither jumps, skips or loud clicking. All are black and flat. Barring my comments I add that they play loudly, clearly and without distortion. The cardboard sleeves are without rips or disfigurement other than some words of reference and some storage wear and browning along the bottom edges. I know I may be preaching to the converted but it is so important to play these records using the correct equipment. They may be considered to be poor cousins of the LP but really good reproduction can be realised with a good diamond stylus with the correct profile for shellac plus the warm sound of valve amplification go towards the perfect match. All this does help to reduce background noise. Wind-up grams are lovely, I still have mine from the 50s, but they don't half wear out the records especially if played with ' loud ' needles. A lighter arm is much preferred. The discs have been cleaned on my Pristine Vinyl ' ViVac ' RCM. Not as well known as many machines but is very efficient and, sadly, very expensive. The discs will be bubble wrapped, strengthened and dispatched in a proper cardboard record mailer.
