~~~~~ Out of Oklahoma City ~~~~~MESSENGERS INCORPORATED SOULFUL PROCLAMATION STEREO SMI-5001 (Private press)Holy Grail Original 70s Funk/Soul Autographed Copy! The Messengers Incorporated: Barbara Burton, Sonny Morrison, Morris McCraven, Charles Burton, Maurice Love, James "Bucky" Young, Maurice Howard Very sought after LP and autographed to boot!The vinyl: Both sides show scratches (B side more than A)and after playing the A side sound is VG condition (very enjoyable).The stronger surface sound starts before track twoon the B side(Eleanor Rigby)and is still strong on "Rebecca", easing up again on last two tracks. No skips on whole album.So over all a strong VG side 1, VG- on side 2. The Jacket & Label: Front cover very clean, no wrinkles.Backs is very good too. the spines "pictured", are Top first,side spine second and third is the bottom spine. Possibly ownedby a smoker. faint discoloration on labels.Rating VG+. I go strictly by Goldmine standards.GOLDMINE STANDARDSVG records have more obvious flaws than their counterparts in better shape. They lack most of the original gloss found on factory-fresh records. Groove wear is evident on sight, as are light scratches deep enough to feel with a fingernail. When played, a VG record has surface noise, and some scratches may be audible, especially in soft passages and during a song’s intro and ending. But the noise will not overpower the music otherwise. Good (VG-) does not mean bad! The record still plays through without skipping, so it can serve as filler until something better comes along. But it has significant surface noise and groove wear.
