Here's the super rare Mighty Mighty Bosstones "Last Dead Mouse" 7" for sale. Gorgeous plaid picture disc, played once, kept in storage for the past 20 years. Any questions, feel free to ask. SIDE A:LAST DEAD MOUSE SIDE B: DON'T KNOW HOW TO PARTYEVERY TRICK IN THE BOOK LENGTHY BACK STORY: Rewind back to September of 1993. I'm a sophomore in high school in Olathe, Kansas and I'm crazy about a little band called The Mighty Mighty Bosstones. (Seriously, my car license plate said "BOSTONE", and last I heard, it now hangs in the band's practice space back in Boston.) The Bosstones of 1993 haven't gotten insanely popular yet, but they're on a major label and do pretty well putting on shows in the nearby college town (Lawrence, Kansas). Our local alternative rock station ("The Lazer") is giving away tons of random promo schwag to kids at Spirit Fest, a big knucklehead of a concert that somehow managed to book Weezer and Moby and a few other folks who were totally on their way up. I'm running around like an idiot (as kids in high school are wont to do) and trying to get the attention of the Lazer folk to give me some free records. Sure enough, they bite. I scrounge through their bin of things and find the Mighty Mighty Bosstones and all breath leaves my body. Not only was this a Bosstones record, but every single speck of a groove on the record was covered in the most sacred assembly of colors ever known to man; PLAID. "Paisley makes me nauseous, when I'm bad in plaid, be cautious." It was beautiful. I had never seen anything like it. Much like Gollum, I coveted this record. The DJ gave me a hard time about this particular record; he wasn't going to let this one go easily. Eventually, I was taking my shirt off, fashioning a shirt made out of their bright yellow radio station bumper stickers, and then running through the crowd for a few hours with a big stupid sticky shirt made out of "THE LAZER" bumper stickers. Maybe not the most honorable moment of my life, but hey...I've lived some. They dragged me up on stage in front of thousands of people, cut the stickers off of me, and then, after all of that promo-whore rigamarole, I got this lovely record. I played it once on my father's turntable, taped it, and put it into a tub with all of my other records. That's it. Fast forward to 2013, and I've got bills to pay. So, I'm selling off this lovely piece of nostalgia to give back to the ever so generous credit card companies that loaned money to me so I could pay other bills and probably buy something really stupid. Any Mighty Mighty Bosstones fan will tell you that this is basically the holy grail of Bosstones memorabilia. The record was only released as a promotional item for radio stations (probably to be given away to goofuses such as myself) and was never available in stores at all. As far as I know, there is no actual figure for amount of these records they produced. It is truly a glorious artifact that I'll be sad to say goodbye to, but happy to pass along to someone who will carry on its legacy with great integrity. Paypal only. Do not bid if you don't intend to purchase. Record is sold as-is. If you have any questions, feel free to ask.
