Description ONE LIFE CREW Crime Ridden Society VR28 LOT ALL MINT AND NEVER BEEN PLAYED These are from my personal collection. You’ll never find the full VR28 set period!! These have been stored in my home which is an air conditioned, smoke-free, pet free environment. This is the whole collection of the famous Victory Records Pressing. Also in this lot I will add the contract with OLC and Victory Records and the first Victory Records Sampler with poster + bloodbook zine. As you will see below I have each pressing and the TEST PRESS!! These are for the serious collector, you won't be disappointed. In case you are unfamiliar with this record, a little back story… Victory released this album and then a couple of months later they withdrew it from sale, deleted it from their catalog and destroyed all remaining copies. It was almost as if it never existed in the first place. Why? Well, wikipedia tells you that in response to a fight at some show, Victory dropped the band because they do not support violence. However, what I remember hearing at the time was that due to the first song on the album containing lyrics which could best be described as ‘anti immigration’ (aka racist), PC / emo hardcore kids the world over (which, in ’95, was probably 99% of hardcore kids) threatened to boycott all future Victory releases unless Victory recalled this album. I also remember hearing about how (apparently) kids in Europe were smashing or burning the records and/or sending them back to Victory with abusive letters. Now, like I said, this was before the internet. These stories sounded cool at the time, but there seems to be some evidence I remember seeing some letters with photos from Chubby of the green vinyl broken in pieces. The idea that a one of the biggest labels of the day would withdraw & destroy one of their newest releases out of fear of losing future sales… well, it does sound slightly more plausible than the same label dropping a band because they were violent. I have to wonder whether the same thing would still work in 2012 though. I mean, perhaps we could all write to Victory and threaten to boycott them if they release any more Aiden or Silverstein records. Or maybe if they release any more records at all.
