Description Incredibly rare U2 Three e.p CBS 7951 Grafotone Unique Copy. Condition is "Used". This is a very rare copy of the first issue Three e.p by U2. This is the first press version with double thumb cut and Grafotone print on the rear sleeve. I would grade this record as vgc+ although there are a few pops and crackles at the start of side 2 nothing too serious and I would be very happy to receive and play a record in this condition. What makes this copy unique and even more collectible is that it was supplied by U2’s manager Paul Mcguinness to a major UK record company in 1979 when he was looking to sign the band for a worldwide record deal (as they were only signed to CBS for Ireland at this time). The record was supplied along with a selection of press cuttings (also included in this sale, 7 single sided A4 sheets stapled together) and a CBS Ireland promo poster (not included in this sale but available separately). You can see a sticker attached to the label pointing out the label copy incorrectly states that U2 are signed to CBS in the UK. This was obviously there to ensure there was no misunderstanding about the bands availability for a worldwide deal outside of Ireland and must have been produced and stuck on by the bands management.
