Description Ravel L'Oeuvre de Piano - Marcelle Meyer. For details of works played please see photos. EMI References 2909633 PM 621 The 2 Lps range from VG+ to EX+ Condition. Record 1 is in VG+/EX. Side one has very light surface noise early on which is very discreet, and does not last long. There are a few pops/ticks, but not many. I heard one 5 rev repetitive tick and what I think was a sort of half skip. The sound is excellent. Side 2 is in VG+/EX condition. Only a few pops/ticks (a couple moderately loud) and one 4 rev quiet repetitive tick. Record 2 ranges from VG+ to EX+ condition, Side 3 has a 9 rev quiet repetitive tick, most of which is in the silence between movements of Gaspard de la Nuit. Side 4 has just a couple of pops/ticks. Overall the sound is excellent on all four sides. The cover is in EX condition. Clean and shiny with very few signs of ageing. I cannot enthuse enough about this magical set of records. Marcelle Meyer is a revelation! I'd never heard her before, and I really can't remember hearing anyone play these extraordinary works quite like she does. There are a few blemishes on a couple of the sides, but honestly, these are short and quiet, and overall they do not disturb the great performances to be found here. The sound of the transfer from the original 1950s recording is fantastic. This LP comes from a large collection of records owned by a retired music professor that I am selling on his behalf. I do no grade the records visually, I listen to them in their entirety and try to give as accurate description of the condition as I can.
