This is still (1951) "down-home" country blues in post-war guise, and is just as good artistically as any old blues singer on Paramount or Vocalion! This original 1951 Chess 1480 is in V+ condition! Frankly and honestly, the surface looks like hell, like it almost wouldn't play. But it's surprisingly intact and relatively noise-free. It plays impressively, robustly.
