The Beatles Get Back [Bootleg LP] “GET BACK with Don't Let Me Down and 9 other songs” 1980s? Blank dark Labels - TO643 A* and B* in vinyl Insert with notes by Mal Evans Vinyl and Cover in beautiful condition This is a bootleg LP of the Beatles "Get Back" sessions (which became Let It Be) recorded as live takes "on the rooftop" and maybe elsewhere(?). It contains a number of complete songs, some incomplete songs and ditties, and talking and joking by John and Paul especially. The LP has dark completely blank labels and the vinyl has train-off numbers of TO643 A* (side 1) and TO643 B* (side 2). I've researched this album some and it remains a mystery--it doesn't exactly fit any description I've read so far. The vinyl trail-off has TO643, which is supposed to be the Tonto label, but this has a blank label and the cover does not match examples of the Tonto record I've found using Google. The only blank label versions I've seen don't have a cover with the Apple symbol upper left… SO: I don't know exactly what version this is. I have owned this for about 15 years; it has been played by me twice on a high-end turntable. The vinyl is excellent. It has minor marks, probably from the paper sleeve (I now have it in a plastic sleeve). It is about as nice as you could hope to find. The cover is in near perfect condition. It is a wonderful repro of an Apple cover reading "Garrod & Lofthouse Ltd" etc. The front is the "over the railing" photo that was like the picture on the Beatles very first English Please Please Me album (but now with long hair, etc.). The back has the studio photo and the Apple logo etc. Whoever made these pulled out all the stops for the very cool cover. The recording itself is what you might expect from a live "outdoor" recording, very interesting, but not "studio quality," never intended for a final release. Great version of Teddy Boy, with John Lennon on acoustic guitar, among other things.
