Description The Beatles, Rubber Soul VG+/VG. Mono PMC 1267. 1st pressing crossover with loud cut side 1 (Matrix Number XEX 579-1) and normal later pressing on side 2 (Matrix Number XEX 579-4). Black labels with Yellow Parlophone and silver writing. "Sold in U.K. ...", "The Gramophone Co. ..." and 1965 all written on the labels. Sleeve: VG+ The original Garrod & Lofthouse flipback sleeve looks great. The front is very clean and retains the original sheen and bright colours. Corners are good with only slight wear. There is a minor crease to the top left corner and very subtle bubbling to the laminate near the opening that can be picked up in the light. The rear is very white and clean and only shows a few minimal blemishes. Inner Sleeve: Excellent Original EMI recording inner sleeve in excellent condition. Very white without any creases or tears. In addition, a new, anti-static inner sleeve is provided which the record is stored in (see last picture). Disc: Very Good Matrix Numbers: XEX 579-1 & XEX 580-4 The disc is an enjoyable listen. It is interesting being able to compare the "Loud Cut" on side 1 to the 'Normal Cut' on side 2. Both sides play very clearly. Side 1 is slightly more distorted than side 2, but I believe this to be the pressing rather than the disc itself. There is background crackle throughout the record, which is more noticeable in quiet sections, but it doesn't detract from the great sound. There are two pops on "If I Needed Someone" due to a scratch which runs across the track. Otherwise the disc looks great with no other significant scratches, only hairlines. All in all a very nice copy for the collector. Will be posted in a polythene outer sleeve within a padded vinyl mailer. Any questions please ask.
