The Beatles, Rubber Soul, Mono PMC1267 LOUD CUT. 579/580-1. TIMES NEW ROMAN FONT. “Loud Cut” matrices: XEX 579-1 & XEX 580-1. When “Rubber Soul” was initially mixed it was slightly different to how we hear it today. These early mixes only ever appeared in mono and are distinguished by the matrix numbers XEX 579-1 / XEX 580-1 in the deadwax. It’s argued that these early presses were unbalanced with a muddy bass and with an edgy, aggressive vocal sound. Since these copies seemed to lack body the decision was made to halt production whilst the mother plates were re-cut. The first “Loud Cut” copies were Sans-serif label font types but this is the rarer Times New Roman font label and was introduced JUST BEFORE the new plates were used and the Loud Cut discontinued. The distinguishing feature of the Sans-serif labels is that the * credit indicator on these labels are spaced away from the song titles and as you can see from the photos the* indicator is next to the titles. Garrod & Lofthouse outer sleeve has some creasing and light wear (primarily to sleeve opening) but is still bright and glossy The spine is generally okay and legible. The rear of the outer has some writing/biro marking in a couple of places but nothing horrendous (see photos). Inner sleeve is creased and has a couple of splits. Vinyl; Slight crackle at quiet points and the odd click here and there. Generally plays very well. I try to be as honest as I can with my comments and I have visually checked and also played the vinyl through to listen, hence my comments, just don't expect perfection as its over 50 years old! (Overseas posting is a flat fee of £20.00 and any import taxes, etc are to be paid by the buyer.) Graded as follows; Sleeve - Good +Vinyl - Very Good + I CAN COMBINE POSTAGE/SHIPPING SO PLEASE TAKE A LOOK AT MY OTHER ITEMS FOR SALE Overseas postage is £20.00 in total (any customs/taxes paid by buyer) I aim to be as honest as I can with descriptions of the items. Any questions feel free to contact me. Any problems after purchase please get in touch allowing me to resolve anything before leaving feedback. If you want more photo’s let me know. Vinyl and sleeve is graded as per the grading system below; Mint (M) - The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Excellent (Ex) - The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing. Very Good (Vg) - The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects is acceptable. Good (Gd) - The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc On 03-Sep-21 at 12:23:28 BST, seller added the following information: I CAN COMBINE POSTAGE/SHIPPING - If you purchase more than one of my items, don't pay immediately but wait until you have made all purchases (you will have three days to combine postage from the date of first one bought) and when ready to pay, go to your shopping basket and select "Request total from seller" - I will then send invoice with the new combined postage costs.
