THE QUARRYMEN IN SPITE OF ALL THE DANGER / THAT'LL BE THE DAY COMMISIONED AND SIGNED BY John Duff Lowe, Quarrymen Pianist Originally recorded in 1958 in a studio owned by Percy Phillips at 38 Kensington, Liverpool. The Quarrymen line up consisted of John, Paul George, Colin Hanton and John Duff Lowe. The original was recorded as a one off as they could afford nothing more at the time and this one acetate was passed around family and friends of the band for them to hear. Finally it ended up with John Duff Lowe who in 1981 sold it back to Paul McCartney for an undisclosed sum. In 2000 John Duff Lowe was commissioned to make a very small number of exact replicas that were to be sold and this is what we have here, everything about it is 100% of the original, the labels that were written in Pauls handwriting are mind blowing when you think of what was to come at the time they were penned. This is an identical replica of that original recording that John Duff Lowe had for all them years, set in a wonderful framed display and signed boldly by John Duff Lowe himself, one of the original members of that small church fete band that was later to become The Beatles and change the course of music forever. There will never be anymore of these made and you may never see any for sale again in fact one did surface over two years ago but that is the only one I can find. The overall size of the display is 65cm by 50cm, I have placed a single next to the item in one the pictures to give an idea of the scale. This is a part of music history and will only rocket in value in future years. POSTAGE - I will post to anywhere in the world and the item will be packed to the highest standards. the item will be posted via The Royal Mail unless a different courier is requested. Please send me a message if there are any questions you would like to ask before the auction end.
