There is rare, then rarer, then rarest. This is one of those times the "est" is really necessary. Don't waste your time with the SMASH Records release. This is the RARER THAN RARE ADMIRAL label release. I am going to grade this in the 4-5 range. It's in placeholder quality, but when you gonna find another? This record made Rich Rosen's Top 20 Rarest Doo-Wop records. The last one auctioned had a torn label and still went over $150. This one has a nicer label. The scan brings out all the blemishes, but to the naked eye it looks good, if not VG. There is a signature in the Admiral on the Please Be My Love side. You can barely see it. I didn't notice it until I looked at the scan. The vinyl is well played and poorly stored. It actually plays surprisingly "quiet" for the way it looks. If you listen below, the distortion seems to happen mostly when the music is louder on the Forever side, and not nearly as bad on the Please Be....side. Specifically on the vinyl the Delta numbers are 39722/39722-X, which means it was pressed in June of 1961.The Forever side also has 45-TAD-913 in the vinyl. The Please Be....side has 45-TAD-912.Both side have the stamp that I have in one of the pictures. This is a nice rare record. Hopefully in the 10 days it runs it will find all that will have an interest. The more it goes for, the faster shipping service I will pay for. You only pay the rate on the invoice. Click to hear it
